Absolutely fantastic picture showing the then glamourous new world of jet transport, with a great variety of the then super-modern breed of jetliners! The 707-436 in front and the Alitalia DC-8-40 are both rare versions, having Rolls-Royce Conway low-bypass turbofan engines, rather than the then usual early P&W JT3C or JT4A turbojets, like the KLM DC-8-30 (with its gorgeous livery!) has. The middle of the three TWA tails is from a Convair CV880, also quite a rare bird, even back then, just like the BOAC Bristol Brittannia. The fuel truck is great too! Wonder what plane type the "Irish" in the right corner is?

Local history for me - and such a clear photo from '63, feels like I'm there

Thanks Bob and the visitor who posted the first comment with the valuable info about those old beauties. Definitely one of the best aviation nostalgia pix on airliners.net.
