G-APAS (cn 06022) Built at Hatfield and the last of the twenty-one Comet 1 models. First flew on 16-Mar-1953 and delivered to Air France four months later as F-BGNZ. Along with two other Air France Comets and two from the RCAF, placed into storage at Kemble due to the spate of Comet accidents in 1954. Registered as G-APAS for the Ministry of Supply then XM823 for development work by De Havilland. Painted in 1978 into this BOAC scheme, markings this aircraft never carried in service. Preserved here since September 1978.
