Great shot of a classic historic a/c. Did they take her apart and put her back together again and did they do some welding around the fd?

Judging by some of the pictures I've seen of her disassembled in the US, I'd say this is definitely a reconstruction.

It seems so well to symbolize the inevitable decay of all man-made things. "sic transit gloria mundi",as they say.Yet the 747 was glorious-I think the most visually satisfying civil aircraft produced to date.I always felt completely safe on board this aircraft, no matter how turbulent the conditions; so it's poignant to see this damp-stained prototype lying off-airport in South Korea. But there is still a faded dignity to her, and the photographer has caught this very effectively. Congratulations to Jon Dunbar. In this case, images do speak louder than words. HRLee
