Poor bird. At least she've had a happy life, including scuba-diving in the reefs of Thaiti during beach vacation.

It's so strange to see a -400 like this, hardly seems like yesterday that they were brand new and the latest thing, whereas actually it was 20 years ago. Odd to think in 20 years time we'll see A380s meeting their end too :(

Looks like they have removed all of the doors; I wonder if they re-use them? Yes, it is sad to see such a magnificent machine being torn apart, but to me it is even more sad to see them "mouldering away" parked in a desert for years as if they were just "forgotten about".
At least this way they can be "recycled" and turned into something useful.

I still find it hard to believe 747-400`s are being scrapped. It was like yesterday they were state of the art

We flew this lady in 2008, during our return flight from Caracas to Paris CDG. Sad end for this 20 years old aircraft !

After surviving a ditch in the lagoon of Tahiti, the GITAnic did not manage to escape the scrapman. A sad end for a Grand Lady. We all miss you here in CDG...

Such a saddening picture emphazised by the wintery atmosphere. I last flew Tango Alpha between MRU and CDG in December 2009. Souvenir...

Sickening - I flew on this from CDG - JNB back in 2003, just found this on a search for her. Very disappointing :-(
