A visitor from Germany posted Fri September 2, 2011:The 747 is and will always be the QUEEN OF THE SKIES. Mike, Germany
A visitor from - posted Fri June 17, 2011:I don't understand why Lufthansa is buying BOTH B747-8 and A380. Why not buy just one type and have the fleet of similar aircraft?
A visitor from United States posted Mon May 30, 2011:The letters through the middle of the picture are greatly distracting, in what should be a great photo.
A visitor from - posted Mon May 30, 2011:Who cares if it was designed in the 1960s. The mighty Boeing 747 has been continuously updated and adapted to suit all kinds of needs and requirements, even in this day and age. Still THE Queen of the Skies. As for the A380, it's big, it's spacious, but nothing special. No offense. :)
A visitor from United States posted Sat May 28, 2011:What a fantastic perspective! Great capture!
A visitor from - posted Thu May 26, 2011:Right place, right time. The Lifter in the background make this good shot fantastic.
A visitor from - posted Wed May 25, 2011:The design of the plane looks vintage. Wait a minute. The design is still from the sixties. 50 years ago.
A visitor from Canada posted Sun May 22, 2011:Can't wait for first delivery
A visitor from Taiwan posted Tue May 17, 2011:Perspective Distortion! The thumbnail looks as though the dreamlifter is a 737, and the 747-8 is much bigger sitting behind. (it doesn't look airborne).
A visitor from Germany posted Tue May 17, 2011:The 747 is one of the most impressive aircraft that has ever been built. However it has been designed in the 60s, now it is outdated and the 747-8 does not catch up with this century's airliners.
A visitor from - posted Tue May 17, 2011:Although I'm German and took part in the A380 hype I'll always prefer the Queen of the skies! Thank you Boeing and Lufthansa! :o)
A visitor from United States posted Mon May 16, 2011:Queen of the Skies - Mk V
A visitor from - posted Mon May 16, 2011:The Queen is back! I have high hopes for the -8. Congrats Boeing and Lufthansa.
A visitor from Singapore posted Mon May 16, 2011:Even in this plainest of livery, it looks every bit regal. And an historic moment beautifully captured by a "royal photographer".
A visitor from United States posted Mon May 16, 2011:AMAZING PICTURE!
A visitor from United States posted Mon May 16, 2011:W-O-W look at that long Boeing 747! Glad to see it in an actual photograph and not in a drawing! Gorgeous!
A visitor from United States posted Mon May 16, 2011:She's already in LH colors, just add the crane & titles :) Regards from SoCal
A visitor from United States posted Mon May 16, 2011:Excellent picture of a brand new plane landing level and right over the keys
A visitor from United Kingdom posted Mon May 16, 2011:This is the best looking aicraft i ever seen ! Long life to the Queen of the sky !
A visitor from - posted Mon May 16, 2011:A wise man said;) great shot, and can't wait to see the 747-8 in the LH colors!
A visitor from United States posted Mon May 16, 2011:If the upper deck is extended all the way back to the empennage then she will lose her iconic looks and would become a whole new aircraft. TriJetsFan
A visitor from Netherlands posted Mon May 16, 2011:Long live the 747!It must be like it is when you extend the hump to the end its not a 747 anymore!Better wish that boeing finds a A380 competitor.
A visitor from - posted Mon May 16, 2011:Love the whalejet and Airbus deserves kudos for a splendid accomplishment... but the 747 remains the reigning monarch of the sky. Look at the lines on that baby. Hope more airlines are inspired to pick up orders for these. Great capture Joe.
A visitor from United States posted Mon May 16, 2011:I told a friend of mine back in the '80s that the upper deck of the 747 would probably one day extend all the way back to the empennage. It looks like that may be happening. Perhaps it will make a very beautiful competitor to the Airbus A380.
