Close up of the engines. After restore-period of 14 years this B-17 has made its first flight on December 8, 2004. On this photo it is still being restored at the Flying Tigers Warbird Museum. This B-17 is famous for being equiped with a fifth engine in the nose. It was a flying testbed for Pratt&Whitney with a T-34 Turboprop engine in the nose. It is flying as 'Liberty Belle' nowadays. *** CRASHED 13 JUNE 2011: Crashed in Oswego, Illinois after taking off from Aurora. Aircraft had an engine fire.
