This is truly one of the most beautiful airplanes ever built. A new revolution in commercial aviation is about to begin and the dawn of a new era is about to take wing. How exciting!

I'm willing to bet they'll hold off flying it until the 17th to commemorate the 106th anniversary of the Wright Brother's first flight.

I just got a feeling that Boeing knows already that the performance of the 787 is going to beat all their early design predictions. This is going to be a great aircraft. Can't wait to see it in full production and the longer variants to come.

A visitor from United Kingdom posted Sat December 12, 2009:
Compared to the snub-nosed A380, this is quite a welcome relief!!!! Can't wait to see this in the air.....

What a elegant wing and nose shape...I hope the first flight plan goes well this time. We've been waiting for it for long enough.

It hasn't flown yet, the first flight window doesn't open until 15th Dec! This is likely just a fast taxy run.

A visitor from United States posted Sat December 12, 2009:
Glad to see it finally under it's own power. Is it just me or do those engines look really low to the pavement?

A visitor from Czech Republic posted Sat December 12, 2009:
Oh, look! There's a little parachute on the top of the tail.

You really nailed this (and the other) photo Royal. If I could I'd give these (2) photos 100 stars. Who's the lucky gut standing out in the grassy area between the runway and taxiway?
