A visitor from United States posted Thu June 23, 2011: It's wool and it provides a little extra comfort to the seat. Boeing planes come standard with it and it does make it the seat better to sit in during a 7 hour flight.
A visitor from Canada posted Thu June 23, 2011: To answer the seat material question, COMFORT!!! It's not about how it looks but (haha a pun) how your butt feels after 6 to 12 hours in that seat. I doubt you'll find very many airliner cockpit seats without these slip-on covers. If you want to go for the looks then put black leather seats in there and just wait for the line ups full of complaints.
