Looks like an updated 767. At least the A350 has a unique look to it.

My God this -9 is a work of art. The coming -10 will just be icing on the cake. As far as the A-350 goes it reminds me of a warmed over A-330. I find the difference in wing technology and design between Boeing and Airbus is interesting. Boeings raked design for 747-8 787's and all 777"s going forward and Airbus with winglets. Boeing must know something about the raked design being superior in performance.

That plane looks very pretty. Think Boeing beat Airbus to the punch on aircraft styling.

Hopefully Boeing learned from fiasco of the original 787-8 rollout (on 7/8/2007) that was a big marketing event for an empty shell of a plane and this time rolled out 787-9 that will be ready to fly soon.

Great angle!, you can perfectly se the magnificent proportions! The 787 really looks better with a long fuselage, I hope that she will change her equivalent competitors! Go Boeing!!

Now that looks gorgeous. The 8 hasn't grown on me. Looks out of proportion and stumpy but this is elegant. Yes Boeing, youv'e got this one spot on

From her slightly down turned nose to her amazing wing tips and flex - this is a beautiful capture of a really beautiful bird. Long live the 787.

Certainly the perfect size for a 787, the -8 is just too small. Way to go Boeing!

Interesting! Definitely looks better than the 788. Waiting to see pics from the side. Hope she's not hovering as close to the ground as the sausage-like 788. The extra height over ground was all it took for the graceful 757.

What a beauty! Looks much more proportionate than her smaller, fatter sister!

Beautiful bird indeed. Not only she looks better than her smaller sibling but she also has longer range.

Hope Air NZ will paint one of their 789s in the All Blacks livery.

Just a matter of opinion of course, which of the two, A350 or 787, is better looking... but I find it striking that the 787( both -8 and -9) differ externally in two important aspects from the A350: 1: The wings; raked wingtips versus winglets (no matter how much Airbus slants them, or curves them, it is what they are). 2: The engines: both of course state-of the-art and great but the A350 lacks the serrated cowlings for some reason, while they have proven to be more silent than the same engine without them.
Since these two aspects are easily recognizable on the exterior, I lean towards the 787 in my own choice as far as aesthetics are concerned. But where the A350 really loses points aesthetically speaking for me is the nose; 787 and A350 both have new and sort of weird noses, but I find the A350 one fairly ugly, while I think the 787 one is pretty much a success.

Anything looks better than the A350. And yes, the 787-9 has just the right proportions.

There was a comment from someone from the Netherlands wondering why Airbus didn't use the new rear cowlings on the engines for their new A-350. I believe the advanced design is a Boeing patent and can only be placed on newly installed engines on Boeing products. Boeing has many advanced engineering patents on many of their commercial aircraft going forward.
