Anything looks better than the A350. And yes, the 787-9 has just the right proportions.

A visitor from Netherlands posted Thu September 19, 2013:
Just a matter of opinion of course, which of the two, A350 or 787, is better looking... but I find it striking that the 787( both -8 and -9) differ externally in two important aspects from the A350: 1: The wings; raked wingtips versus winglets (no matter how much Airbus slants them, or curves them, it is what they are). 2: The engines: both of course state-of the-art and great but the A350 lacks the serrated cowlings for some reason, while they have proven to be more silent than the same engine without them.
Since these two aspects are easily recognizable on the exterior, I lean towards the 787 in my own choice as far as aesthetics are concerned. But where the A350 really loses points aesthetically speaking for me is the nose; 787 and A350 both have new and sort of weird noses, but I find the A350 one fairly ugly, while I think the 787 one is pretty much a success.

A visitor from United States posted Wed September 11, 2013:
Wow! Looks a lot better than the -8. A very graceful looking aircraft.

A visitor from Sweden posted Wed September 4, 2013:
She doesn't look better than the 350

A visitor from Germany posted Tue September 3, 2013:
She looks better than the 350

A visitor from United Kingdom posted Sun September 1, 2013:
787-8 is definitely too short, for now I prefer the 787-9.

A visitor from Ireland posted Sun September 1, 2013:
Stunning piece of work but I prefer the A350-900

A visitor from United States posted Thu August 29, 2013:
Beautiful bird indeed. Not only she looks better than her smaller sibling but she also has longer range.

Hope Air NZ will paint one of their 789s in the All Blacks livery.

A visitor from United States posted Thu August 29, 2013:
What a beauty! Looks much more proportionate than her smaller, fatter sister!

A visitor from Sweden posted Wed August 28, 2013:
Interesting! Definitely looks better than the 788. Waiting to see pics from the side. Hope she's not hovering as close to the ground as the sausage-like 788. The extra height over ground was all it took for the graceful 757.

A visitor from United States posted Wed August 28, 2013:
Certainly the perfect size for a 787, the -8 is just too small. Way to go Boeing!

A visitor from New Zealand posted Wed August 28, 2013:
Can't wait to see her here in NZ. First 787-9 is for Air NZ if I am correct???. About time I say!!!!

A visitor from United States posted Wed August 28, 2013:
From her slightly down turned nose to her amazing wing tips and flex - this is a beautiful capture of a really beautiful bird. Long live the 787.

A visitor from - posted Wed August 28, 2013:
They have given the color blue, a new meaning!!!

A visitor from - posted Wed August 28, 2013:
Now that looks gorgeous. The 8 hasn't grown on me. Looks out of proportion and stumpy but this is elegant. Yes Boeing, youv'e got this one spot on

A visitor from Sweden posted Wed August 28, 2013:
Great angle!, you can perfectly se the magnificent proportions! The 787 really looks better with a long fuselage, I hope that she will change her equivalent competitors! Go Boeing!!

A visitor from - posted Wed August 28, 2013:
Hopefully Boeing learned from fiasco of the original 787-8 rollout (on 7/8/2007) that was a big marketing event for an empty shell of a plane and this time rolled out 787-9 that will be ready to fly soon.

A visitor from Netherlands posted Wed August 28, 2013:
Her Royal Birdness :-)

A visitor from United States posted Wed August 28, 2013:
Great to see the 787-9 out in the open! The picture captures the great proportions that this new model has!

A visitor from Netherlands posted Wed August 28, 2013:
Better proportioned 787!But stil she is not growing on me.
Thnx for this early pic

A visitor from - posted Wed August 28, 2013:
For the first time, I think the 787 is beautiful! This is all it needed. To be a little longer..

A visitor from - posted Wed August 28, 2013:
Simply gorgeous! Looks just as good as the -8!

A visitor from United States posted Wed August 28, 2013:
What a beautiful plane!

A visitor from United States posted Wed August 28, 2013:
That plane looks very pretty. Think Boeing beat Airbus to the punch on aircraft styling.

A visitor from - posted Wed August 28, 2013:
She just looks so gorgeous!

A visitor from United States posted Wed August 28, 2013:
Wow, looks great! Like the paint scheme too.

A visitor from - posted Wed August 28, 2013:
Wow! She truly is even more of a "looker" than the -8!!

A visitor from United States posted Wed August 28, 2013:
My God this -9 is a work of art. The coming -10 will just be icing on the cake. As far as the A-350 goes it reminds me of a warmed over A-330. I find the difference in wing technology and design between Boeing and Airbus is interesting. Boeings raked design for 747-8 787's and all 777"s going forward and Airbus with winglets. Boeing must know something about the raked design being superior in performance.

A visitor from Netherlands posted Wed August 28, 2013:
Oh sweet... Simply gorgeous...

A visitor from United States posted Wed August 28, 2013:
Very nice picture as always this -9 looks awesome, i hope that LOT PA converts their last to orders for this two -9

A visitor from - posted Wed August 28, 2013:
Absolute perfection!

A visitor from Panama posted Wed August 28, 2013:

A visitor from United Kingdom posted Wed August 28, 2013:
What a beauty, far more elegant than the A350.

A visitor from United Kingdom posted Wed August 28, 2013:
Not really liking the B787 from this angle!

A visitor from United Kingdom posted Wed August 28, 2013:
Looks like an updated 767. At least the A350 has a unique look to it.

A visitor from - posted Wed August 28, 2013:
Beautiful! Just a beautiful piece of machinery!

A visitor from United Kingdom posted Wed August 28, 2013:
You are definately right, now the 787 is in proportion! looks much better than the -8 which is way too short...

A visitor from Germany posted Wed August 28, 2013:
The -9 finally is a 787 that doesn't look like a fat maggot. Nice aircraft!

A visitor from Netherlands posted Wed August 28, 2013:
Nice to see, look like te old dc 8

A visitor from Australia posted Wed August 28, 2013:
It is a nice looking plane, but the question is, is it reliable?

A visitor from - posted Wed August 28, 2013:
Never been a fan of the 787...until I saw this photo. Thanks Sebastian for changing my mind about this awesome plane!! The -9 is much, much better

A visitor from - posted Wed August 28, 2013:
AWESOME! Looks much better than the 350

A visitor from Denmark posted Wed August 28, 2013:
Now this is an airplane to be proud off!!

A visitor from - posted Tue August 27, 2013:
Wow, the -9 looks gorgeous from this angle!

A visitor from - posted Tue August 27, 2013:
Is it just me, or does this airplane finally look "in proportion"

A visitor from Jamaica posted Tue August 27, 2013:
Still maintaining the family gracefulness and majestic contours. Welcome to the skies, 787-9! #LookingForward
