Bonanza Airlines became the first all jet airline when it replaced its last DC3 with the Fairchild F-27A. Bonanza merged with Pacific Airlines and West Coast Airlines to form Airwest, which became Hughes Airwest, and which later sold out to Republic Airlines which eventually was asorbed by Northwest Airlines.
