A very rare plane. Only 5 707-220 were built, of which one crashed before delivery to Braniff. This -220 series combined the shorter fuselage of the 707-120 with the more powerful P&W JT4A turbojet engines of the longer 707-320. It was the hot-rod of its day.

Once the 707B versions with their quieter, more powerful and more efficient JT3D turbofans came out, there was no need for the 707-220 anymore.
