I flew this plane from Saigon to Paris (with some stops of couse) when I was very young. Great memories. Worst souvenir is leaving the mountains to fly over Damas plain.... Lost hundreds of feet and passengers lost their breakfast too....
This plane was a dream ! Few passengers and crew was the nicest people one can think of. Longing for these happy days which will never return.

Nice light good angle. Curious as to when this was taken. Slightly slower shutter would have given more prop spin. One of my favorite aircraft for airliners. Fond memories of watching them land as a young boy.

Any Constellation pic is a good pic. But this one of the recently repainted Swiss L-1049 is by far the nicest one I have seen yet. You can just hear and feel those R3350s

When I was a young boy in the late 1950s, my parents took my newly married aunt & uncle to the airport where they boarded a TWA Connie to begin thier honeymoon. My dad simply remarked "Wow! A Constellation!" In those glory days, airline travel was a big deal...flying in a Constellation was the ultimate in class and luxury.

Good to see a Connie in such fine fettle. Does a great job for Breitling. Those gleaming nacelles! Cloudless sky - glorious opportunity grasped by a highly proficient photographer who deserves our
heartfelt appreciation.

The curve of the fuselage reminds me of the Jag E Type ! The most beautiful car yet produced ! Sentimentally though, it was the first aircraft I travelled overseas in in 1966 from South Africa to Luxemburg

The lines in this airplane design are amazing. It's a masterpiece. Wish I could fly in this beauty someday, or even see one take off. This picture shot is beautiful.

What memories. I worked on the first two airframes at Lockheed from 1940 to 1942 in department 24 in Burbank,Ca. I missed it's maiden flight because I was in boot camp in San Diego, Ca. Just looking at the blue prints, I knew it was a winner

A friend of mine was in paris during the late 50's studying art when his teacher took the whole class out to ORLY to look at and photograph the connies there, as an example of industrial perfection

Amongst the safest planes ever built. The mere sight of this picture brings back to me kid nostalgia. I used to spend hours by the runway seeing these planes land and take off at an airbase in India in the 70's. Sat so many times in it and my dad was a maintenance specialist on this plane. These belonged to Indian Navy and were leased out to the Air Force. The sound and sight of this plane was enough to drive me wild..
