Remark Photographer
N4634 / 4634 This plane crashed in North Carolina in 1944, killing the pilot. Lex Cralley of Minnesota salvaged the remains in 1990 and recently won a 6 year court battle with the Navy to let him keep it as this is an extremely rare aircraft (original Navy BuNo 04634, only 735 were built). He plans on restoring it to airworthy condition - a project expected to take several years.

I am a fan of photos like this for several reasons. First being the story behind the photo. Secondly, this photo gives the view the impression he/she is actually standing next to the skeletal remains of this once proud bird of prey.
