Late afternoon arrival of Concorde as BA002. After she landed, several other airplanes had to perform a go-around due to a deflated tyre on G-BOAC, while the runway was being checked and cleaned for debris. Only when looking at the photo's at home, I found out that its RH front tyre on the right main landing gear was already deflated and deformed on approach! Looks like the new Michelin NZG tyre performed as advertised and did not blow catastrophically. Photo 2 of 4.

Been looking for this pic for years! I was on this flight in row 5 (still paying for it!) in the days after I was convinced it was a bigger news story as I'm sure the tyre blew on take off, luckily the new tyre performed as designed. I remember the take off and landing being bumpy but as this was my one and only flight on this bird, I had nothing to compare it too! I also remember getting off where we stopped to be taken by bus to the gate after sitting on the plane for over an hour and giving up my seat on the bus to an old lady (Yoko Ono!) I could have sat on the plane all night without complaint!
