Re: Photo ID: 347486 You will note the leading edge flaps/slats are still in the zero position have a flat surface, which is in contour to the flat underside of the wing. Now in this photo you can clearly see they are deployed and you will notice that the leading edge flap/slat panels are actually a variable-camber panel. For landing and takeoff the leading edge flaps are extended by an ingenious linkage mechanism, this bends the panel creating a nicely curved aerodynamic surface. What a great plane!
