A sharp late evening bank over the Hudson River with a clear view of the George Washington Bridge. On the left of the river are New Jersey towns of Fort Lee, Teaneck, Tenafly, Cliffside Park and Englewood Cliffs. On the right is Upper Manhattan, Harlem, Harlem River and the Bronx, New York. That's what I call a dirty wing. Hopefully it's only dirt, not rust!

Amazing view at this altitude! Well captured.Although it's such a shame to see a dirty aircraft for such an airline.

The wing is dirty, but it adds to the artistic appearance of the shot. Matching colors and great contrast. Nice Shot

Nice shot for the New Jersey and New York seperated by an ugly-dirty wing. British airways should consider showering their planes!

It's not dirt, it's grease leak...

Good detail but look at the crap on the wings. BA clean up your aircraft.

Great pic of NYC. The only reason I could think of for that wing being so dirty is if it were the BA Triple 7 that fell short of the runway at Heathrow (Obviously not though since that aircraft was written off)

FYI, this photo also happens to show the area of the Hudson River where Capt. Sullenberger landed US Air #1549.

Looks great....but,the wing looks as though it is starting to get a little bit rusty
it also blends in with the sun set colours.

Absolutely wonderful the coulers stand out like neon colours in ultraviolet light
but....hang on a min the wing is absolutly discusting i think its time for the big beauty wich is powered by rolls royce engins to have a good cleaning...it does look a little greasy
but brill pic,eye catching and perfect!!!!

Must be the oils from the slat and flap mechanisms, but i cant think of how they can get this dirty, especially on a 777. looks alot lower than they are usually seen flying over manhattan

Great shot of Manhattan and Harlem in great evening light, but an absolutely dirty wing! Yes, it probably is because of oil, but now I know that Air France isn't the only European airline with dirty aircraft!

Great! The dirty wing actually enhances the photo because of the 'dirty' feel of NY and NJ. Hey, I live there and although I love the city, I'll be the first one to admit its dirty.

Is he the one, who found the volcano ash cloud over the north atlantic? Obviously he is banking to fly through a rain cloud to wash it off.
Nice sight seeing though ...

Er... don't they wipe out excessive grease after lubricating the fittings?

I love this picture. And I actually like the oil/dirt on the wings too. It shows us that the 777 is a machine.
