G-YMMM (operating flight BA038 from Beijing) made a crash landing at runway 27L, Heathrow today. The aircraft came to a halt at the runway holding point after touching down 300 meters+ short of the landing zone. Note the rudder is used on final, prahaps a sign of crosswind?

A very strong crosswind or meaby a windshear which coud be possible this day

When the hydraulics are not pressurized (power off), the rudder veers into the wind. The position it is in in the photo means nothing.

No power, so no hydraulic pressure kepping the rudder centered. It's current position is non indicative. Great photo btw, lots of thing to look at!
