If they're starlings (and the look to be), then they are between the photographer and the a/c, not in front of it. They're a very small bird, so they are closer to the photographer than the MD-90, and would be behind the a/c and out of sight of the pilots. But the potential for severe bird strike is cetainly demonstrated by this photo! | |
