People are mistaking it for a DC-9 because it looks like a DC-9... Great capture of a new type in test flight. It's good you got the whole aircraft in the photo, lets us see the winglets too. Good job!

Looks like a cross-breed of Fokker-70, CRJ series, and Boeing 717

FIVE STAR!

Wings were designed by Ukraine's Antonov Design Bureau. No russian involvement whatsoever. And yes, looks like a great aircraft. Hope to see it soon in the sky, and probably fly on one, as a passenger ;)

Why are there so many people mistaking it for DC-9? they are different in nature....

Good luck!

It's a new DC-9 body with Russian designed wings and General Electric engines. Can't get more multi-national than that. Very good composition on this photo. I gave it 5 stars too. - Brett

When I saw I thought that was a Boeing 717 or a DC-9. Whatever, interesting aircraft.

Nice catch, this birs indeed looks like a combination of Fokker 100 and DC-9 with winglets...

A visitor from United States posted Fri July 24, 2009:
Wow, crazy, a Chinese 717 with dorky looking tiny winglets... Crazy, but I love the photo. I'd love the aesthetics if they would have extended the wings and installed raked wingtips or larger blended winglets. What a rip though. Nice photo though, gave you 5 stars.
