CF-CPQ (cn 45928/334) This aircraft was involved in an incident on the runway involving a just airborne TAA, Boeing 727,VH-TJA striking the tail on 29/01/71. The 727 landed safely.

The aircraft was repaired (new vertical stab and rudder) in Sydney by Douglas, flew back to YVR and flew revenue service for a couple of weeks with the stab and rudder painted with primer only before maintenance planning was able to schedule it in for final paint & logo.

To the previous commentor, it must have been more than a "snapping sound" when the 727 took the tip of the vertical stabilizer of that cp jet. Agreed, however, I might have lost my "lunch" in a far worse way than throwing up.

I could not imagine what it would be like to have been a passenger on that plane, and having the 727 roar overhead and hear the snapping sound of the vertical stabilizer breaking. I would probably have need to change my underwear
