G-ASID (cn 45161/757) The first DC-7C Seven Seas to visit Newcastle, this ex Sabena aircraft OO-SFE was delivered to Caledonian 17 May 1963 and appeared at Newcastle eight days later. It operated a charter flight from and to Bergen with passengers from a broken down Bergen Line ship. The outline of the "Sabena" logo on the nose of the aircraft is still faintly visible.
