HS491 From these ashes a phoenix shall rise. HS491 was built in 1943 for the Royal Canadian Air Force. After the war it fell into disrepair and was eventually cannibalised to enable another Swordfish, HS554, to be restored to flying condition. HS491 has just been acquired by the Malta Aviation Museum, which intends to restore it to the same standard as its Hurricane Z3055. It will be interesting to follow the restoration on a.net as has been done with the Hurricane. Olympus C-740.
