Gorgeous bird, if only she had a 744-style winglet.

Can't wait to see it in Cathay Pacific's livery!

Except for the slightly longer nose, I do not find it a monster. Obviously the engines got a workout but that is it (from the outside :) ).

Comparing the 747-800 with the A380, I would say that we are looking at two beasts, living in the same environment. Only that the A380 is the "whale" and I have the feeling thet the 747-800 is the "orca". The good thing is that in the sky, as in the ocean, is plenty of space for them. Well, there may be some problems on the ground... A nice photo of a good looking airliner.

Look long enough at this picture and it looks like a model instead of the real thing. The reason it looks longer than normal in addition to the stretch is the shorter upper deck. Hard to believe that loosing the battle to Lockheed's C-5 Galaxy for the USAF heavy lift contract made boeing's 747 so popular and the icon it is today.

The 748 doesn't have 744 styled winglets because it has raked winglets I believe. Those don't show up in this photo very well. However, the photo is beautiful and shows of the full length of the 748. So glad to see the first one being delivered.

Looking really big, but they could have used a new livery, some special paint or something, because this is just boring. Nevertheless a very impressive plane.

Great shot of my favorite airplane. The way the bright red stripe becomes the tail is just awesome. What a beautiful livery. Damn that sawtooth nacelle looks good !!!

Very sleek. I still prefer the classics, but the 8F, with the shorter upper deck, looks gorgeous. Too bad we'll never see this baby in the colors of Pan Am, TWA or Flying Tigers...

That extra length makes the -8 one sexy looking plane...

Cargolux should definitely change their color scheme, it looks so much old-fashioned.

"old fashioned" when it comes to airline liveries is best. I wish it really was "old fashioned" so the titles were smaller. They're way too big.

I love the sight of this plane and it's sawtoothed noise reducing "(chevrons) as you probably call them", however I would prefer (RR Trent 1000) instead of (GE90-115B) and (GEnx engines).
