A visitor from - posted Thu December 1, 2011:Aw ya fooled me! The thumbnail made this look like one of the new 747-8's but alas it's an old photo of a -200!
A visitor from - posted Thu December 1, 2011:Bah, A340's do this all the time... :)
A visitor from - posted Tue August 16, 2011:Loaded to the brink + hot air = late rotate.

A visitor from - posted Thu September 9, 2010:The pilot said: V1, rotate (still not rotating), you can rotate now, I said rotate!!
A visitor from Venezuela posted Sat August 14, 2010:Ok, you either rotate or pass away... as simple as it ;)
A visitor from Australia posted Wed August 4, 2010:Great anticipation combined with spot-on camera positioning and framing makes for a dramatic photo. I think I can feel the sigh of relief from the flight crew! I doubt that the take-off was planned that way!

A visitor from United States posted Sun August 31, 2008:When he said rotate, he wasn't kidding!
A visitor from Canada posted Tue November 6, 2007:Just a blind guess...given that this is about a 10000ft runway, the pilots may have been taking off with de-rated thrust...meaning less than full power. Obviously this plane was heavily loaded, but I can't think of any good reason why the full 10000ft would have been used!
A visitor from United Kingdom posted Thu September 20, 2007:Classic photo!! However, someone mentioned a 'well calculated V1". Sorry to disappoint this person but they don't know what they are talking about! Using almost 10,000ft to get airborne is not what I would call a well calculated V1!! And in any event surely you mean VR!! ;)
A visitor from Germany posted Tue August 7, 2007:They paid for the runway and used all of it! Fantastic photo! 5*
A visitor from Sweden posted Fri February 16, 2007:WOW! That was close! Great photo!
A visitor from Australia posted Fri January 12, 2007:Wouldn't call it 'close'... more like a well calculated V1 and an aircraft performing just as it was designed to. Great photo! 5*
A visitor from Switzerland posted Fri January 12, 2007:Nice scenery.
A visitor from Sweden posted Sat September 16, 2006:Wow! Close!
