Correct me if I am wrong but Cathay Pacific is a hong kong based airline and if i see right i see a UK flag on its tale??? I know that England was looking after hong kong for a bit and i know that there now coming under China. but was there another Cathay Pacific airline or did they become a Hong Kong based Airline with that change over????

In response to the previous visitor: They were always based in Hong Kong, since being founded in 1946. It's just that Hong Kong was for a long time a special overseas protectorate or 'province', moreorless a colony, of the UK. In July 1997 it was 'handed over' to the Chinese and you'll notice, to be seen here on A.net for instance too, that Cathay aircraft such as their A330-300's, which they were pretty quick to order, were one day registerd VR-***( A333's VR-HL*), the next B-***. An ex-colleague of mine has Hong Kong roots, I used to banter with him about Kai Tak and the movie 'The Departed' being worse than the Hong Kong original 'Infernal Affairs'... notably, he told me that he preferred the way it was before 1997...
