A visitor from Norway posted Fri October 9, 2009:A spectacular and unique airport high in the alps.
A visitor from Canada posted Sun August 16, 2009:Great picture. This is an airport i would like to visit. Tyrolean Airways used to have scheduled flights to Courchevel. It must be pretty impressive to watch a DASH 7 landing here.
A visitor from United Kingdom posted Fri July 25, 2008:I've landed and taken off here with my friend at the controls. Simply memorable! Take off is easy. Landing is uphill (obviously) and as soon as wheels touch down, you hit the gas, otherwise you'll slip down again and off the cliff. Out of season there's no tower so you fly-over to check nobody's taking off at the same time. The landing is unsighted of the apron, so it's possible to hit a plane taking off as you come in to land!! Breathtaking.
A visitor from United States posted Fri March 7, 2008:That is probably the shortest runway I have ever seen. WOW. If your not careful you'll run right into the house.
A visitor from United States posted Tue January 29, 2008:Incredible!!! Don't believe I'll be flying in or out of that one.
A visitor from United States posted Tue January 29, 2008:Well, of course, you cannot see the end of the runway from this vantage point
A visitor from United States posted Mon January 28, 2008:You can actually see the ski tracks in the snow. What a site it must be to come into this port for the skiers and the pilots! - Jill b.,Va.
A visitor from United States posted Mon January 28, 2008:,I am not a photograper, but the composition being in three points of interest, distance in such detail, the middle so compact, near shot so close can see foot prints, hight from runway , the people are in so clear to see the color of their clothes, the detail of a prop engine plane, parking area to the very right of picture. the form of the green evergreen trees, even the detail of every limbs and branches. congratulations to the photgapher.
A visitor from United States posted Sat January 26, 2008:Excellent view of three levels of altitude associated with an airport landing zone.
A visitor from United Kingdom posted Mon January 14, 2008:I flew as a passenger from Courchevel Altiport in Jan 2007. A short 15 minute trip in a Cessna 172. I am a pilot and just wanted to experience a launch and landing from a this unusual strip. It is not so bad - very slow acceleration given the high density altitude c. 6,600 feet, but rapid acceleration and lift off once over the lip. The landing is equally impressive - landing well below the 'uphill' end, but deceleration is rapid and the pilot has to apply a good deal of power just to get back up the slope to the apron. I'd be happy to give it a go myself - in perfect conditions!
A visitor from Netherlands posted Tue January 8, 2008:You'd better not overrun this runway! Looks pretty scary! Awesome picture!
A visitor from United States posted Sat December 8, 2007:Looks like the ski slope has covered part of the runway
A visitor from Hungary posted Wed November 21, 2007:Grat.!
A visitor from - posted Sun November 11, 2007:We have 3 options. 1) We land. 2) End up in a snow drift, or 3) we fall off the edge of the cliff!! Great shot!!!
A visitor from United States posted Thu October 25, 2007:There is certainly no room for rejected take off or runway overrun!
A visitor from Israel posted Sun July 15, 2007:"Ladies and Gentlemen, please fasten your seatbelts, It's going to be a bumpy landing!"

A visitor from United Kingdom posted Sun June 10, 2007:An amazing picture of an amazing airport, great perspective of the runway here. I was skiing in the three valleys this year and skiied straight past the altiport. Had lunch at the restaurant on the left and watched an aircraft land, quite a dodgy landing!
A visitor from Hong Kong posted Sun June 10, 2007:What kind of airport is this? It can't be an airport if the rwy. is too steep and short!
