In 1962/1963 the Chilean Navy received two SH-34 Choctaw helicopters, among them this one. They were used in the Anti-Submarine Warfare (ASW) role until being retired from service in 1970. Having surpassed the mark of 2000 units built, the Choctaw was one of the last helicopters fitted with a piston power plant. In her case it was a 1525 HP Wright R-1820 radial engine. A/c preserved at the National Air & Space Museum.
