We know the A-380 is also a great addition to the widebody commercial scene. But it doesn't hold a candle to the sleek lines of the nearly 40 year old design of the 747.

ATLAS and some other cargo airlines fly to SJO with 747s, at least once a month, but they arrive and at night and depart before the sun comes out, so there is no chance to spot them. This photo was taken from the control tower, which gives the photo an interesting angle. For the people asking, the aircraft departed to Dominican Republic after its visit to Costa Rica. Daniel Umaña

A visitor from Costa Rica posted Mon June 5, 2006: Thank you all for the comments, and yes, the reason the Dreamliner came to Costa Rica was the visit of Taiwan president. The aircraft departure was scheduled to be at 1pm, but the actual departure was almost at 5pm. I was very worried because there was a thunderstorm over the airport a few minutes before departure. Luckily for me, the rain stopped a few moments before it takeoff, giving us a beautiful result! Regards, Daniel Umaña
