Stuttgart airport was closed several hours due to this Fokker 100 accident, which landed without a completely extended landing gear.

Wow, this is a fast picture, very nice! I was listening to an interview with Müntefering on the radio while driving home and he said that the landing on the foam layer was softer than a regular landing!! Had to laugh at that one... anyways, nice pic!

OOPPS Looks like the plane has only recently been repainted, must have been a good landing for the plane to still be in one piece.

In holland we call mud 'modder'.

This plane is now called a modderfokker (you know what that means;))

Very good work of the pilots. I still can remember how they departed just in front of us in TXL.

Thanks for such a detailed picture!
I occured to me that an aircraft with engines under wings would have done this landing.. er.. in a more dramatic way.
Rare mounted engine RULE !

A possible advantage of rear mounted engines - probably still both functional and engaged in rear-thrust during a belly landing.
