LQ-IYV (cn 30391) Only C46 Commando preserved in Argentina out of up to 25 that operated as freighters in the mid 1960’s in this country. Former USAF 42-96729; PP-NMJ; CX-BCN. “Preserved” is actually not the exact word to be used for this plane, since it rests completely abandoned next to a road. That’s the reason why (although it’s not easy to climb into it), the cabin is unfortunately used by locals as a public restroom, the stench in it is unbearable :-( |
