727's?....Anyone? A whole fleet is stored as a result of the economy I guess. A couple have already been sold.

Should DHL recover from the German postal Services fangs one day as a freight line, it might very well carry one or the other beercan/sodacan made from the old 727s.

Sad indeed. i'm always amazed by the organisatory complexity of parking 30 planes so quite close in i guess a very short amount of time. and how to get all those crews flying them in and out...

in any case, thank your for the shot!

The whole fleet was grounded as a result of DHL pulling out from the US operation. They are now contracting UPS to carry their packages to destination in the US.

Good shot, although it breaks my heart to see all these beautiful birds grounded... I think I'm gonna cry myself to sleep after seeing this...

Does go to show what happens when the economy fails and when DHL pulled their US Domestic operations. Sad to see the 727's sit there. Makes me wish I could buy one before they are all gone from the skies.

I'm guessing the white ones are all -100s (they look so stubby compared to the -200s). Great job fitting them all in the photo!

Alright, two comments on this photo

1. Is that a 727 with winglets I see? or is it just me (Topmost 727-100 white)

2. Don't forget the sad Continental MD-80 in the back (top right)

Nice picture that brings back memories of when 727s were a very common sight, oh those smoky approaches. By the way, isn't the 'MD80' an Embraer? MD80s were not that much smaller than 727s.

Yes yes, there appear to be 3 Problembraers sitting there as well... phased out early due to great success i suppose...

Yes, it's a 727 with winglets. Some 727s in service are fitted with fuel-saving winglets.

Wow! Fire sale of some second hand? Can I pick some? .. I choose two of the small white and a large yellow. How much? Do you do delivery? ... Ah, what a dream .. ;-)

I'll take the little White 727 with the winglets, if I can put it on lay-a-way. $20 down and the rest of my life to pay for it? Seriously, it is a sad picture.
