Swiftair is the only 727 operator in Spain. Strangely enough this unit features a kind of spine on top of the central fuselage: This aircraft was one of a batch of Mexicana, which were fitted with JATO, as they operated from high and hot airports with full load. The JATO installation has been deleted a long time ago, but some remains can be seen aft of the wing. Re-routing of some air conditioning pipes was required to make room for the rockets in the bay resulting in the hump on top of the fuselage forward of no.2 engine. Other examples of this conversion are EC-HLP and G-BMLP. ( Additional info supplied by Flt. Eng. Graham Penson)
