Okay, now this is just plain silly! at what point are they willing to go to save fuel and extend range. soon all aircraft will look like they were designed at the willie wonka & dr zuess crazy bin. it doesn't even look right. I mean this plane has no propellers... how does it fly?! ;)

Very nice picture indeed. I dont like the looks but they seem to work. Its just about reducing the induced drag a wing is creating while producing lift... We will see if they can catch on, on airliners, but the increase in weight might be so big, we will see.

Reminds me of a wing design we did in University, it seemed that a wing extending out and then going over the fuselage to the otherside was the best design to minimize drag. Just not very practical and made out of metal the weight is an issue, maybe with CRFP it will work better.
