This pic brings so many memories back i was on a WN 737-200 from Los Angeles to Houston(Hobby) and I remember looking out the window and thinking the engine was going to fall off(I was olny 5 at the time) it was so cool!

A visitor from United States posted Wed March 19, 2008:
Looks very powerful

A visitor from United States posted Wed November 7, 2007:

Yep. Yep. Like'n it!
It's always a wonderful thing when a photographer is able to pass along some deeper and detailed insight into the mechanics of aviation machinery.

You other photogs can take a hint from this theme. Get in there and show us some detail and some new perspective.

Very good

A visitor from Argentina posted Sat October 21, 2006:
When I got married together with my wife to start our honey moon we went to San Carlos de Bariloche flying in a Boeing 737-200 of Aerolineas Argentinas. When the plane landed we saw this parts moving for reverse, I said: The engine is broken. My wife was amazing but when I smiled she understood I was kidding

A visitor from United Kingdom posted Mon October 16, 2006:
Although you were forced into the buttgroove of the old seats on these planes they sure were fun! I flew one last year with Ryanair. =]

A visitor from France posted Sat September 9, 2006:
Superb reverse in action

A visitor from United States posted Mon August 14, 2006:
This is the greatest part of man and nature, slowing down 120 tons of machine in 12 seconds, the beauty and the beast!!!!

A visitor from United States posted Wed August 9, 2006:
That is really cool

A visitor from United Kingdom posted Wed August 9, 2006:
This can be a quite intimidating experience on your first flight on a Boeing 737-200 !!!

A visitor from United Kingdom posted Wed August 9, 2006:
Brings back lots of memories. I have been on numerous flights on -200's from Scotland to Ireland with Ryanair since 1995 and have seen this many times from the wing view window! There was nothing quite like the thunderous pounding sounds from these old engines when the reverse thrust was deployed. They have recently aquired -800's for these routes and I must say I will miss the unique character of this plane.

A visitor from United States posted Sat August 5, 2006:
Dynamic moment in operation of engine; very good photo quality

A visitor from Sweden posted Wed August 2, 2006:
Thats a really nice photo. I love those Pratt & Whitney engines. The sound they make... ahh... lovely!!

Its a skilled photo and you can see why the Boeing 737-247/Adv aircraft are so cool !

A visitor from United Kingdom posted Fri May 26, 2006:
Amazing detail! I often get the question of what a 200's reversers are like, and heres a shot to prove it :). I once got an account of a -200's reversers from a freind... "All of a sudden the rear of the engine cowling just dissapeared like a shot and started rumbling..." Well Justin, heres one for you!

A visitor from Spain posted Fri May 12, 2006:
What a Detail! That's the kind of shoot I like!

A visitor from United States posted Fri May 12, 2006:
That brings back many memories of my childhood. i used to see that exact angle quite a bit on flights to milwaukee from cvg when they (delta) used 732's quite frequently on that route in the early 1990's. thanks for bringing back memories of delta when it was a truly great airline!

A visitor from Mexico posted Sat April 22, 2006:
Great moment

A visitor from - posted Mon April 17, 2006:
I'm surprised a -200 had a window clear enough for you to take this great shot. Or were you standing on the wing?

A visitor from Malaysia posted Fri April 14, 2006:
Wow...thanks for such a detailed shot.I see the 732s everyday deploying its reverse thrust..but from a distance..amazing

A visitor from United States posted Thu April 13, 2006:
Amazing picture I miss the 737-200s I always enjoyed seeing them in DAL AWA and SWA colors at KAUS but now has been reduced to DAL. Once again nice shot!

A visitor from United Kingdom posted Thu April 13, 2006:
Amazing!!!.....5*s, really does show the immense power of the 737-200.....*sob* they are dying out from service, unfortunately.

A visitor from United States posted Thu April 13, 2006:
Must be a bit of a gamble to fly one of these old birds, pushing 25 years old? Nice shot of rarely seen effect.

A visitor from Finland posted Wed April 12, 2006:

That's what i call thrust reversers ;-)

A visitor from Canada posted Wed April 12, 2006:
Now, that's a thrust reverser ! I've been travelling in the great Canadian North for years with First Air and I will never get tired of this. Old, smoky and noisy engines : the essence of air travel. If only they were not so polluting

A visitor from United Arab Emirates posted Wed April 12, 2006:
Sweet Baby!

A visitor from Netherlands posted Wed April 12, 2006:
Brilliant! So sharp, so much detail. Just great!

A visitor from United States posted Wed April 12, 2006:
Impressive. The reverse thruster looks like a parachute.

A visitor from United Kingdom posted Wed April 12, 2006:
Brilliant photo, the clarity is superb, well done mate !!!

A visitor from United States posted Wed April 12, 2006:
I think the phrase that you are looking for is "thrust reverser" - not "reverse thrust".... The space shuttle has "reverse thrusters".

A visitor from United Kingdom posted Wed April 12, 2006:
Superb shot.
