The final Northwest B744 is finally repainted into the Delta livery marking an end to those giant red tails. The Northwest livery still remains on a handful of aircraft but will be gone in the near future. N671US roars out of runway 25R passing the Tom Bradley International Terminal.

Nice! I thought that "US" was a registration code for US airways. Since they never operated 747's, does anyone know why the ending of this birds registration is "US"?
