D-ASUI (cn 5498) Frantic rescue actions at crashed Ju-52 named "Hans Berr". The only seven month old plane crashed just a short time before that picture was taken in the summit region of the Moritzberg (603m), a mountain close to the town of Lauf an der Pegnitz. The pilot of the civil plane lost the orientation due to heavy snow and low visibility during the approach to former Nuremberg airport Marienberg 15km to the west. Four people out of 16 passengers and crew were killed in the accident. The picture was taken by my grandfather.
