G-AMSM (cn 27209) We found this cockpit in a small museum in Kent, UK. It has had an impressive life. Delivered January 1945 to the US Army, and has flown since for the RAF Montreal, RAF Azores, RAF Broadwell, Scottish Aviation, got the civil registration G-AMSM in April 1952, flown for Starways, Eagle Aircraft, British International Services, Kuwait Airways, Skyways and Air Freight. It was badly damaged on take-off at the airport of Lydd in 1978. The nose section remained and was shortly used in a TV series. |
