I was shocked at how crowded the DC-7's cockpit was. I guess I was remembering that movie where John Wayne was co-piloting a DC-6 (I think) over the Pacific. There was enough room in that cockpit to play baseball, but not this one.

The movie was the High and the Mighty and I believe it was a DC-4. It probably looked bigger on a movie set.

Indeed it was a DC-4. I saw (the movie) at the Star Theater in Mercersburg, PA sometime between 1954 & 1956. -rsa, 2010-09-05
