It was intersting to watch these aircraft arrive as the runway was only just long enough for them. Interesting to watch, but even more interesting to be on board ! I arrived this day on a Prinair Heron which was far more sedate.

This photo brings back memories. I can reacall as a child flying out of the then, Harry S. Truman Airport on St. Thomas. It was a Pan Am 727, I believe, to JFK. The aircraft went ot full throttle with breaks on. Turned 90 degrees onto the runway ,and before we knew it we ascended to try and clear the hill at the end of the runway. Year 1972. Better than a rollercoaster which I hadn't been on at that point. michael Benjamin
