This is actually the very same aircraft used in the movie "Public Enemies"... EAA advertised it as such when I was lucky enough to catch a ride on her visit to Minneapolis. This is the best ground shot I've seen of 'er, the black and white is a nice touch!
My husband and I were lucky enough to have taking a ride on this tri motor, NC8407, when it was at our local airport. It was really a thrill. I have a picture of it hanging on my wall. Pat from Michigan
Saw one of these in the movie 'Public Enemies' ! Very cool looking for being an older plane. What a beast!!
Ole Henry was a genous! I bought a ticket in MO> back in 1972,to take a ride on one of these tin goose's but they gave us our money back so we never got to ride. It is too bad ford stopped building Planes,& tractors & trucks, just to get the fed off their backs. Henry was serious about selling a plane once for sport flying(a model"t") too bad He stopped that too.
Besides being a great photo, this is just a classic scene with the old hangar at OSH in the background, the aircraft itself, and the effect of the black and white on the photograph.
