It has been said that the stol designs by Chris Heinz are not pretty airplanes, but that their form follows function. Ron Baak’s photo shows that the stol-750 is a beautiful plane as well.
This photo highlights the beautiful deep wing airfoil with its flat bottom, the curvaceous hoerner tip, the junker flaperons, and the leading edge slats. The flaperons, airfoil and the leading edge slat are prominent in the photo, but the mesmerizing parts of this photo are the geometrics of the wing struts, flaperon supports, window lines in the foreground and through the large canopy in the background. There is something magical in this. Look and see if you don’t agree.
