Uh... landing lights should have been switched off. Weird angle for a wing to be at in flight, but exellent shot!

You can get a better understanding of the wing flex when you sit right in the centre of the wing. Thats what I got when I sat in 56K on the Qantas A380.

A visitor from United Kingdom posted Fri June 12, 2009:
This is an amazing shot of the wing i wish i could fly on it

Nice wing flex but boeing planes still wing flex better

A visitor from United States posted Mon November 26, 2007:
What a beautiful shot and to think that those two engines can muster up a total of around 140,000 lbs of thrust, awesome!

A visitor from Chile posted Thu July 26, 2007:
You can a play a match on that wing...

Congratulations to the man who cleaned up the window ! Usually it`s very hard to get a good shoot `cause oily dirt and tiny cracks.

This photo could be used for marketing purposes in Emirates. Nice Shot!

A visitor from United States posted Sun January 28, 2007:
The engines on the A380 seem so much farther our on the wing and closer together compared to other 4 engine aircraft like a 747 or A340. Not sure why, maybe it's just me.

A visitor from United States posted Sat January 27, 2007:
Pictures of the a380 wing view are so amazing

A visitor from United States posted Tue January 16, 2007:
Lovely, too bad I dont really like airbus, or their aircraft besides the A340 (love that thing) but still, rarely do you see a window picture so nice and clear, its a keeper for me.

A visitor from Malaysia posted Wed January 10, 2007:

A visitor from United States posted Fri June 9, 2006:

This is as close as heaven as you can get...in a commercial jet at least :P!beatiful shot!!

A visitor from Canada posted Thu April 13, 2006:
Did u know if wings were to snap they would flop upwards due to the resistance under the wings.....so the sagging is probably a design and not a fault..

A visitor from France posted Wed March 8, 2006:
The wing lights are for traffic ahead ?. superbe shot

A visitor from United Kingdom posted Sat March 4, 2006:
Scary wing sag on first look but interestingly on closer observation the wing actually seems to rise up after the outboard engine. Product of perhaps a more advanced aerodynamic research...

A visitor from Germany posted Fri March 3, 2006:
Heavy metal never looked so good

A smoothing blue sky merges with the brilliant green landscape. Touch up well with a bit of scattered clouds. Completed fabulously with the two huge nice engines.

A visitor from Portugal posted Tue January 10, 2006:
Truly amazing image, taking into account everything is fucused (including the landscape) ! About the landing lights, if it is below FL100 (approx 10000ft) it is mandatory to have landing lights on.

A visitor from Taiwan posted Tue January 3, 2006:
Great!

A visitor from Germany posted Fri December 30, 2005:
Nice perspective ! Smooth colors, and an impression of the true force of these engines ...

A visitor from Brazil posted Sun December 25, 2005:
Absolutely wonderful, The wing and the Huge engines make old lady 747 looks pale.

A visitor from United States posted Thu December 22, 2005:
Why is the landing lamp on?

A visitor from United States posted Sun December 18, 2005:
That wing's drooping from the weight of the engines! Is it just me, or is that a little scary?

A visitor from United Kingdom posted Sun December 18, 2005:
Wonderful shot, you do know the wings are made in Wales though? In the United Kingdom.. so I agree with the previous poster, what an amazing feat of BRITISH engineering.

A visitor from United States posted Sat December 17, 2005:
This is an exelent photo. Just look at the view of the world. Also a great shot of the two engines and the wing!

A visitor from United States posted Sat December 17, 2005:
I didn't realize the A380 wing had that much angle of incidence near the wing root. Would probably be enough to scare someone who doesn't know about wings.

A visitor from United States posted Fri December 16, 2005:
Ah! Nice photo. It appears the wings are designed like that, quite the opposite of the 787 which swoop up, not down. I thought this beast just had massive wing sag on the ground because they are so huge. Anyway, amazing shot and lucky for this photographer to ride in such a machine! :)

A visitor from United Kingdom posted Thu December 15, 2005:
Yeah, what a fantastic piece of BRITISH engineering...

A visitor from United Kingdom posted Wed December 14, 2005:
What a feat of engineering imagine these wings are holding up a weight in excess of 250 tons.. Those engines alone way more then 2-3 SUV's :o

A visitor from France posted Tue December 13, 2005:

it seems like the wing is going to collapse due to the weight of the engines!!!

Great shot!

Looking forward to experience it myself!
Excellent shot!

A visitor from United States posted Tue December 13, 2005:
Beautiful! The wing curves down near the wing root, so this wing is not drooping as much as it appears to be.

Some quick facts:

On December 17, 1903, Wilbur and Orville flew the Wright Flyer 1, an airplane that had a wingspan of 12.8 meters approximately. Today, 102 years later, we fly the AIRBUS A380, an airplane that has 6.49 times the wingspan of this aircraft, or to be more exact, 79.8 m. What will the ratio be in a 100 years more? Congratulations for the picture.

A visitor from - posted Tue December 13, 2005:
