A visitor from - posted Sat September 22, 2012: Lot of memories with this particular aircraft as I traveled lot of time on this. Particularly I recalled when I traveled from Lahore to Multan on this aircraft and Captain was my friend and I got the opportunity to travel in the cockpit. I never knew at that time that this particular aircraft was the starting point for Emirates.

From 1985 to 2010 this single aircraft airline became world # 1 international passenger-kilometers airline. All other top airlines (world # 2 to # 10) are older than Emirates. They were already well established airlines when Emirates was born. Emirates managed to overtake all of them and reached the top. This is what being competitive means.

While other popular airlines of 1980s like Air India or Pakisthan Intl have gone down today, this kid of 1980s has grown up to become one of the world's best airlines....Also, nice to see same paint scheme and logo maintained for over a quarter century. Before reading comment I thought Emirates has recently started 737 service.
