This is a picture that I wouldn't normally upload because of the obvious application of Murphy's Law regarding a single cloud on a clear blue sky...but last week's crosswinds were so strong, that forced this 773 to approach runway 21R with a 30 degrees -or so- "crab" angle (which also led to a spectacular landing)!

Mpravo Ilia! Would have been a real pity if this shot had not been accepted. And I really hope that all A.net screeners do understand this so that similar "poor quality" action shots won't run the risk of being rejected in the future!

Nice picture.
Am I missing a point? Plenty of crosswind and full flaps?

A wind cone (seen lower left) is small, but adding a strong power to this picture. Very impressive.

Truely impressive. The 777 is capable of a 38 kt/44 mph crosswind component landing. It is not supposed to be flown in a 'wing-low' approach, so the touchdown would be spectacular! There are a few videos on YouTube of the test flights demonstrating this, too!

It's not landing, the pilot decided to make a crossover with flaps down, at an angle!

"Dear passengers, this is the pilot speaking. Looking to the left you can have a panoramic view of the runway at Athens airport where, soon, we gonna land..." ;-D 5*
