A huge apology for this dreadfully composed photo, but what did we know in 1961? The photo is so rare, I'm hoping it will be of enjoyment anyway. This is ET-T-27 later re-registered ET-AAZ, one of three DC-6Bs; ET-AAX and ET-AAY were the others. Zulu served new from Douglas from July 1958 until it was scrapped sometime after 1976. Here it is departing for ASM, CAI, ATH & FRA. Arrivals and departures had to be at daylight, because there were no runway lights. Today Lideta Airfield is a military airport.
