A visitor from - posted Sat June 18, 2011:This is not a four-engine design - the wing-mounted props are driven by the main engines via a transmission mechanism w/clutch, so they can be slowed down and stopped on the ground. Though the idea seems ungainly, the point was to create a fast helicopter using only off the shelf components, as opposed to the X2's ground-up new design. | |
