A visitor from United States posted Wed November 28, 2007:N555SuzyQ was based at YIP, Detroit Willow Run, in the late 70's early 80's. If I remember correctly in was owned by an airline, whose name I can't remember, that converted to DC-8 water wagons and they sold the airplane to TransContinental. If I also remember correctly, the airline fired all their DC-6 crews and hired crews that were already qualified in the DC-8. This was a common practice at the time to save training costs. | |
