A wide view of the 727 flight deck. Since this is a very recently retired plane the cockpit was left almost untouched from its final landing - even the logbook is there! Captain would sit in the left front; First Officer in the right front; Flight Engineer in the right rear; and an extra crew member jumpseat in the left rear.

For such a big airliner, it sure had a simple insturment panel.....leave all the work for the flight engineers ! lol

Before 9/11, FedEx employees could ride in the jumpseats on their aircraft for free, anywhere. 727's had only one jumpseat, and you're looking at it: right behind the pilot. What a thrill! Sometimes I'd fly anywhere -- it didn't matter -- as long as it was aboard a 727. (Now, from what I hear, jumpseating is a thing of the past.)

This airport is the home of TMG/Greenwood, "The Memphis Group"'s aircraft recycling facility. Old jets come here and become beer cans!
