They were disposing of old photos and I was asked if I want them.Otherwise they would go to the waste bin. How could I turn down an offer like that? I was also told that that I could publish them as long as it was mentioned that they originate from Finnair

This is a great picture on so many levels. A classic Finnish landscape on a sunny summer day: forest and lakes. A sentiment of progress and improving prosperity of Finland in the early '70's. And of course those heat trails...Five stars.

...Can`t understand that "The National Airliner of Finland" (Finnair) was destroying pictures of "The History of them self and AERO "= The Finnish proudness of historic civil aviation!

I am sure these are probably from some Finnair stock photo library as they look similar if not the same images I have seen on old postcards. Nevertheless it is great they are hear for everyone to see on airliners; its a bit like preserving a piece of history online!

How could they throw away such photos! That's part of their history, they should be proud to show these pictures. At least they let you share them with us. I love the heat trails from the engine.
